STANLEY, Va. — Crews from two different departments battled a residential fire early Sunday morning.
According to a Stanley Fire Department (SFD) media statement, the incident occurred March 9, 2025.
Just after 1:30 a.m., SFD crews responded to reports of a house fire at 141 Campbell Drive. Occupancy was unknown.
Command 24 arrived on scene to discover a single family dwelling with flames showing through the roof of the structure. A bystander advised that the home’s occupant was not in the residence at the time of the fire.
It took 22 firefighters, using four pieces of fire apparatus, an hour to extinguish the blaze. Afterward, crews from the Stanley and Luray Fire Departments remained on-scene for two hours for salvage and overhaul operations.
The Page County Sheriff’s Office, Shenandoah Valley Electric Company, and Page County EMS all assisted with the incident.
The house, which was insured, was deemed a total loss.
