PSCO Deputies to Start Using Body Cams This Spring
Initiative has been in the works for more than a year
LURAY, Va. — Deputies with the Page County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) will soon add body cameras to their patrol arsenals.
On April 9, 2025, PCSO Sheriff Chad Cubbage announced, via written statement, that staff recently attended training to learn how to use the cameras.
“This initiative has been in the works for over a year,” said Cubbage via the statement.
Command staff was also taught how to manage users, upload media to an evidence management portal, and conduct routine audits of deputy camera footage.
Axon (a company that develops technology for military and law enforcement), provided the training.
“My staff and I are committed to ensuring that the body camera program is successfully integrated into our daily operations,” said Cubbage. “Over the next several weeks, we will be working to finalize and fine tune our policy, provide training to all appropriate staff, and assign cameras.”
Sheriff Cubbage expressed appreciation for the assistance needed to purchase and implement the new body cams.
“We are grateful that the Board of Supervisors committed to and approved the critical funding needed to initiate this program,” he said. “We are hopeful that this equipment will be on the street and in full operation around mid-May.”
